Vision Duo features the incredible talents of violinist Ariel Horowitz and percussionist Britton-René Collins. Together, they bring a fresh perspective to classical music, combining traditional techniques with innovative styles.
Through an exploration of musical genres and sonic possibilities for violin and percussion, Vision Duo seeks to contribute to the ongoing redefinition of classical music programming and structures.
Ariel and Britt formed their duo after becoming co-winners of the Concert Artists Guild International Competition’s Ambassador Prize. In doing so, the Duo quickly discovered their shared passion for post-genre and contemporary music, promoting systemic change, and centering equity and access in musical spaces— as well as a craving for soup dumplings and matcha, respectively.
The Duo’s recent tours have taken them to communities across North America, performing their Genre-Fication program which explores the exciting, underexplored sound world of violin and percussion, and their program Electrovision— a blending of acoustic, electronic, and multidisciplinary experiences.
Vision Duo collaborates with and commissions composers, including percussionists Duncan Patton and Alexis Lamb, and performs their own original and improvised works. In recent seasons, Vision Duo has performed at venues such as Merkin Hall, the Phillips
Collection, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, and Dumbarton Concerts in Washington, D.C.
